The Kingdom of Morocco is a country located in North Africa. It has a population of over 32 million and an area of 446,550 kmē. Despite being situated in Africa, Morocco remains the only African state not to be a member of the African Union.

Moroccan cuisine is extremely diverse, thanks to Morocco's interaction with other cultures and nations over the centuries. Moroccan cuisine has been subject to Moorish, Berber, Jewish and Arab influences. The cooks in the kitchens of Fez, Meknes, Marrakesh, Rabat and Tetouan refined it over the centuries and created the basis for what is known as Moroccan Cuisine today.
